  1. Unscrew the coils

Unscrew the coils using a hex screwdriver. Work on a cold engine with the ignition off.
  2. Remove coils

    Remove the 2 coils manually
  3. Unscrew the spark cover

Unscrew the spark cover using a hex screwdriver
  4. Remove the cover

Lift the spark plug cover off the cylinder head to expose the spark plugs.
  5. Remove the spark plugs

Unscrew both highlighted spark plugs with a spark plug socket (anticlockwise) and lift them out. Keep dirt out of the open plug holes.
  6. Put the new spark plugs

Check the gap of the new spark plugs against the engine maker's specification. Thread them in by hand first to avoid cross-threading, then tighten them with the spark plug socket.
  7. Put back the cover

Refit the spark plug cover and screw it back on with the hex screwdriver.
  8. Assemble the coils back

Refit both coils onto the spark plugs and screw them back in place with the hex screwdriver.
  9. Reconnect and test

Check that the highlighted ignition leads are firmly connected to the coils, then start the engine and check that it idles smoothly without misfiring.
